Medagelia Takes West Lites Title

Tyler Medagelia estabilished himself early in the AX Lites West Championship and after a near night ending crash in Saturday In Reno got up and made the most of the race and hung on to win the AMA National AX Lites West Championship. Only four points seperated him from Tiger Lacey at the end of night with Lacey finishing 2nd to Medagelia's 10th. Although upset with himself for the mistake which nearly cost him his title Tyler was more than excited to be holding on to the number one plate. "A big thanks has to go out to everyone who worked hard to get me here Tyler said, Josh Woods and GPF have really put together a great program for up and coming riders and I am glad that I was able to deliver to them their second number one plate. Thanks Todd at TLR Performance, Factory Connection Suspension, Decal Works, Yoshimura Devol Engineering, Dunlop, SDG, Vortex, K&N, DP Brakes, Motorex, Boyesen, and especially Eddie Babbitt at Babbitt's Online. I will be finishing out the AX season and really working on that AX class, But first with the help of GPF and Babbitt's I will be racing the Daytona SX next weekend and after the AX season they are going to help me get to the Toronto SX. Thanks again

Team GPF/Babbitt's Heading to Reno

After a confusing restart in the Lites program at Sacramento California Saturday night. Tyler Medagelia Pushed hard to regain the point position after a less than perfect re-start which had him in 4th with just six laps remaining in the main event. Medagelia was forced to settle for second on the night but still retained the points lead by seven points over Cory Green headed into the last two events of the Lites West series next weekend in Reno Nevada. The restart was called for on the 12th lap while an injured rider was helped off the track.

This should make the racing real interesting at Reno said Josh Woods Team manager for GPF/Babbitt's Online. Our bikes have really been working good. Tyler is very focused and his confidence gets better each week as he is really getting comfortable with Arenacross. He's a bit frustrated with his AX class performance but he has proven he has the speed he just needs to figure out a few more things. We are looking forward to making the swing back East as the series begins to wind down.

Other notable riders from GPF to Keep an eye on for the remainder of the Season are, Dave Ginolfi the current points lead for East Lites championship. Kyle Brown currently returning from injury and looking forward to joining everyone in Pennsylvania , also Dano Aulseybrook might possibly be able to complete the series after his great start to the year Dano was forced to sit out the last few weeks with a wrist injury.

Team GPF/Babbitt's Online picks up the pace at Louisville.

The Team Is back on track at Louisville after Shane Sewell's advancement to the Monster Energy Kawasaki Team last week it left a big hole is our structure, luckly GPF member Tyler Medagelia was available and willing and with short notice and very little time on an arena cross track came out swinging. Tyler posted the fastest lap of the night in qualifing in both the AX and the AX lites classes. And second fastest Sat. night. and ended up 5th Lites and 12th AX his very first night racing arena Cross. Saturday was a bit disapointing after a first turn pile up in the Lites class had Tyler struggling to get back in the groove and finishing 10th in the Lites . But backed that up with a 8th in the AX class.
Dano Aulseybrook also has begun to figure things out, and for the first time this season qualified solidly for both the AX and the AX lites class on Saturday Night while turning more than a few heads, with a 5th in lites and a 13th in the demanding AX class. We are looking forward to helping Dano make this transisition from the amatuer MX to Arena Cross and beyond make sure to keep and eye on 841.
Kyle Brown also made Louisville his return to racing after a broken leg at the first round in Desmoines. Kyle's times for qualifing were good big the injured leg is just real sore right now and a decision was made to sit out both nights and work on a strong return next week at north Carolina. for dates and times near you ck out www.arenacross.com

Team GPF /Babbitt's Online Prepares for Dayton One Night Stand
Team GPF/ babbitt's Online will head into Dayton minus Shane Sewell, Sewell's outstanding performance so far this year has earned him a spot on the Monster Energy Kawasaki Team for the remainder of the series. Shane will be missed by everyone at Team GPF/babbitt's Online but we also understand the oppertunities that affiliation with the Monster Team can bring to Shane. We wish Well.
Preparation with the two lites riders Jerry Lorenz and Dano Aulsybrook for this weeks round has been hectic dealing with the extreme weather conditions in the northern regions really slows things down but with Team Manager Josh Woods extensive experience things have come together and we are looking forward to a great weekend at Dayton. The Team will be introducing a new rider sometime next week and he will be filling in for Sewell starting at the next round in Louisville Kentucky. Check back soon for Dayton Results.

Grand Rapids Arena Cross

Shane Sewell #16 AX

Team GPF/Babbitt's Online Ontrack for 2009 The official AX season kicked off in Grand Rapids and Team GPF Riders made a great opening statement and showed they will be a factor in the remainder of the series. After a slow start Fri night for Jerry Lorenz . Jerry came back on Sat. with a new determination and posted a strong finish in the AX lites main event moving forward the entire race and gaining the experience that will help him position himself for future podium finishes.

Dano Aulseybrook Is a fill rider for the Injured Kyle Brown and did an excellant job, Dano is on steep learning curve having never raced arenacross prior to the Grand Rapids event and riding a different Brand Bike than his normal Ride, Dano stepped in and gave it what he had placing inside the top ten on Fri night and backing that up with a 6th on Sat night . Dano is currentlyholding down 5th O/A in the mideast lites region.
Shane Sewell was also on pace this opening weekend and after postion fast qualifing time on Fri Night and putting in a solid ride in the Premiem AX class and finished 9th. Saturday's event saw track conditions change drastically from the night before making for much better racing action. Sewell was once again in the Mix at the Start of the 25 lap main event and rode connsistantly and smooth to finish 4th and within stricking distance of the leaders. Shane now sits in 4ht O/A going into next weeks round two in Baltimore Maryland.
